Database Recovery

Tuesday, May 2, 2017

Important update regarding the server outage. We may have a working recovery process in place. It has to run on the entire database folder (ALL databases from the last restored 4/21 backup). This process DOES NOT AFFECT the live server/databases. The process will probably take about a day to finish, then we can restore the damaged databases. Note that this process does not restore data that...

We've been working hard on the database backups and may have figured out what happened. We suspect the database(s) themselves had gotten corrupted, most likely due to one of the drives that had failed. Some databases are fine but others (generally Wordpress) were having issues with the most recent backup. We will post another update later today as we work to find when the suspected corruption...

Account restores are nearly done and our focus is on getting database content now. Update on the server crash issue... A large portion of accounts are restored with email working. We thought we'd have them all done yesterday but had other issues to look into at the same time. Restorations will continue today and we should be close by end of day. Email connections have been slow at times but we've made adjustments and at the moment they seem to have helped. We'll continue to...

Websites in restore process

The server is running and we're in the process of restoring data. Our first focus is to get all sites enabled with email functioning. No te that the spam filter we were using has not been installed yet so there will be spam coming in but you should be able to send/receive. Websites that are in HTML should display. Database sites (like Wordpress for example) will be worked on after we get all...

Server Crash

-- updates are listed below in reverse order (**) We were notified this morning (4/22/2017) by the data center of a hard drive failure and was investigating, when another drive went out as well. We've never seen two drives fail so close to each other but unfortunately that has happened. We DO have backups and will be able to rebuild but it will take some time to do this. We will update this...
