We haven't posted any updates in a while but that doesn't mean we aren't around or working behind the scenes to make improvements. A few items we'll mention...
- We use a security system that recently introduced a feature which rate-limits bots. For WordPress users, this plugin is installed automatically and you'd see the option to disable/etc if you wanted to from the WordPress Dashboard.
- After extensive testing, we came to the conclusion that any/all email from a couple Google VPS services (googleusercontent and firebaseapp) is nothing but spam. Emails from those sources would clog up the email queue and never seemed to be valid so we now outright block emails from those two sources with a bounce reply that we do not accept email from those services. We are also testing our own internal processes for automatically blocking mass spam from VPS's that spammers spin up on occasion.
- While our server level firewall system is exceptional, we are also looking into licensing options for our hardware firewalls to increase protection.
